International Club Race: BUDAPEST 8-9 April 2017
Mark you calendars!!!
Budapest has been voted on as EFR's first annual international club race! The 32nd Telekom Vivicitta Spring Half Marathon weekend includes the 21km main event as well as a 10km and 7km race. Starting and finishing in the middle of the Danube on "legendary" Margitsziget (Margaret Island), the course passes by the best sites of central Budapest including the castle, Parliament, and across the stunning Chain Bridge.
And of course, this wouldn't be an EFR event if it was JUST about the running! Budapest is a UNESCO world heritage city with a history stretching back to before the 1st century A.D. As the commercial, political, and cultural centre of Hungary, Budapest has something for everyone. The city's over 100 thermal baths earned it a "City of Spas" ranking, and spa-culture applies to more than just relaxation - 'water discos' (also known as 'magic bath parties') are definitely worth investigating.
Registration for the races is not yet open but an early-bird pricing scheme will be in effect so watch for future Facebook announcements. Complete information can be found on their website: http://springhalfmarathon.runinbudapest.com/
